Social Media Accounts I Shy away from

Health and fitness accounts I tend to shy away from

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and follow who they like, but I tend to shy away from certain accounts for the following reasons.

  1. Anyone who creates fear around eating a certain food. Usually not backed up by science, or relevant nuance in terms of amounts to cause issues, generally cherry pick studies to cite from or don’t even reference them correctly

  2. Anyone who shames other types of exercise. I don’t care if you’re doing Zumba, F45, circuit training, running, Hybrid, powerlifting or step to the beat. If it’s what you enjoy and keeps you moving more, then i’m all for it. Sure there are some forms of exercise I think are more beneficial, but if it means you’re not going to exercise at all then don’t put that form of exercise down.

  3. Anyone frequently using the word ‘should’, just piss off making me feel bad, stop shoulding me this or shoulding me that.

  4. People saying the ‘best’ exercise for, I don’t believe in it, there is no best, plus people are individuals, not 1 thing is going to work for every person

  5. People having polarising

opinions for the sake of getting more traction on social media, of course it’s a tactic that works, but there’s often way more nuance to everything, and it’s just getting boring

  6. People who throw arbitrary numbers out there, preaching it to be gospel, usually ties in to point 3. It’s usually just clickbait.

It probably doesn’t make for as exciting a feed but it certainly helps my soul and mental health.
